Tick-tock, tick-tock

When should you post your score?
Before midnight of the day you played. Why should you score before midnight? Because I said so. Sorry, I was Channeling my dad. The reason is at the end of each day, the USGA compares the actual scores made at each course to the expected scores of the players who made them. If the scores were significantly higher or lower than expected, an adjustment is automatically applied to everyone who played the course on the day. This adjustment is called Playing Conditions Calculations, or simply PCC.
The range of the PCC adjustment is -1 to +3, with a negative (-) adjustment meaning the course played easier than expected, and a positive (+) adjustment meaning the course played more difficult. On most days, the PCC will be zero (0). If a PCC is applied following one of your rounds, it will be clearly identified within your scoring record. It will not adjust your stroke count but rather the differential of the course.
At least 8 scores must be posted before midnight (local time) in order for the calculation to take place - so it's important for all of us as players to post our scores on the day of play. In 2022, there were only 14 SGL members out of 120 that posted on the same day 100% of the time. And don't forget there is a random drawing for a $50 SGL Pro Shop gift certificate at the end of the season for members who posted their score on the same day the round was played 100% of the time. Below is the report on "timely posting".
What rounds can I post? The Salishan Golf Links abides by the R&A/USGA Rules of Golf and Rules of Handicapping. Post all acceptable rounds, including 9-hole rounds and rounds played in the company of at least one other person, who may also act as a marker (subject to satisfying any other requirements of the Rules of Golf) is acceptable.
